Outdoor learning

We embrace the great outdoors. It’s every child’s right to play and learn in nature, providing memorable learning experiences which enhance understanding of the world around us.

We offer an outstanding forest school experience for every pupil. This is a nurturing space that supports our children’s wellbeing, by providing and implementing positive, outdoor, child-centred experiences in a natural setting. It maintains a child’s right to play and to learn and care for our environment. Children gain skills in team building and memorable learning experiences which enhance children’s understanding of the world around them.

Our Forest School continues to grow and develop with our children. Each child in Key Stage 1 will experience a block of between 5/6 sessions a year, both in Year 1 and Year 2.

Forest School is an outstanding and inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem through hands-on learning. Children, who may struggle in the classroom, are often enabled to develop new ways of learning and coping through experiences explored outside.

Our Forest School gives children the opportunity to succeed in an alternative environment, making it a great place for children of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.
