Physical Education

at Netherton

The PE curriculum at Netherton aims to inspire children to be active and discover the positives of being active.

We provide two hours of high quality physical education each week, as well as having an active approach to classroom learning, incorporating physical activity across other areas of the curriculum. During PE children experience a variety of fundamental skills. These are focused around agility, balance, coordination and fitness. Children take part in individual skills, group activities and team games, using PE equipment appropriate for their age.

We provide children with opportunities to participate in a broad and alternative range of physical activities to widen their experiences, from cross country and Scooter Fit to Strictly Pennine - a school dance competition. The aim is to encourage all our children to lead healthy, active lives, not just the children that excel in sport.

WELLBEING

Healthy minds are just as important as healthy bodies. Check out our Wellbeing page to find out how we support wellbeing in school, and lots information and resources for families.
