What a fantastic Narnia day Year 2 have had. Their costumes were amazing and they have enjoyed making collage lions, coconut ice snowballs, peppermint cream polar bears and thinking about what it would be like to be an evacuee.
Some of our Year 2 children met with Diamond Wood School today to make some new friends. They all had an amazing time.
Local artist Jean Farmer came to work with some of the Year 2 children today to create Narnia inspired woods. They used masking techniques, printing, spraying and brushing using coloured inks. The pictures look amazing.
'Carry My Story' Family Event
On Tuesday 14th January Year 2 launched their Carry My Story Project with an open afternoon for parents. The parents worked alongside their children on several activities which focused on what makes them unique, family trees and special family stories. This event was extremely well supported and we are very grateful for those of you who took time out of your busy schedules to support this event.
We plan to celebrate diversity and individual family stories as the project develops with a focus on cultures, food and special family experiences. The children have also been twinned with a Mirfield school called Diamond Wood and three 'meet up' days are scheduled to take place over the forthcoming months where children can meet each other and explore differences and similarities.
Some of our Year 2 families have shared some amazing family stories with us. These are some of them. If you have a story about your family history and want to share it with us, please send it in.
