Class 5 with Mrs Yates & Mrs Dickson

Welcome to Class 5.

We have settled well in to year 2. Mrs Yates and Mrs Dickson are really pleased with us. We have been working really hard and trying our best. We also have lovely manners. Because we have made such a good start in year 2 we have already filled our treasure jar! As a treat we brought our favourite teddy into school and we had buns!!! We are already well on the way to filling the jar again. What a great start we have made.

Class 5 Stirley Farm Trip

The class had a brilliant time at Stirley Farm. The sun came out and we were able to enjoy some super outdoor learning. We learnt about the life cycle of plants, picked some produce and used it to make some delicious homemade vegetable soup. We were extremely well behaved and Mrs Yates was very impressed with us. Thanks to all the helpers who made the trip possible.

Mexico Topic

This half term, Class 5 have been extremely busy learning all about Tocuaro, Mexico. Class 5 have become writers of their very own non-fiction books and have written lots of amazing facts about Lake Patzcuaro and the Arts and Crafts in Mexico. They have designed and created Mexican masks which can be used during festivals in Tocuaro. The children have worked exceptionally hard to make sure that the masks are bright, creative and eye-catching. They have done a super job-well done Class 5!

Year 2 have worked very hard on their Narnia pictures. We used a range of media including water colour, pastel and poster paint.  We learnt a new technique known as "stippling" to create our trees. "Stippling" uses delicate dots and dabs to achieve its textured appearance.
